Northeast - Cycling in NJ

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just moved to Cherry Hill, NJ from Seattle and just started road riding. I have been spending every weekend in PA but would like to find places to road ride in NJ that are somewhat rural.
I tried to hook up with the South NJ bik club but no luck so far.
Where can I go ride? I would love to avoid riding in Cherry Hill. So compact.

Hammonton is about 25 miles from Cherry Hill. The rides are in a rural area.

If you like hills, try northern Mercer County and Hunterdon County.

another option along with Propedals would be to explore South Jersey Wheelmen bicycle club (I am Bike Advocate there). We offer several events based in the Salem, Gloucester, Atlantic, Cumberland, and Cape May counties. Next Saturday 8/13/11 we are holding the Art Shalich Memorial Century (w/SAG, $20 day of, 8AM regs, Helmet required, a 25 and two 50 mile loops, details at sjwheelmen.org). Also check out ActionWheels in Woodbury, PeddlersShop in Deptford, and MoJo bikeshop in Vineland, NJ.
welcome!

i second the outdoor club of south jersey..routes out of cherry hill into the pines are either kresson road or church road (r 616), within 5-7 miles in rural space...from your fellow cherry hill rider:thumb:

As mentioned above, i'm trying to get out to a ride and even moved closer to the starting point haha.
Also, if you just want long roads without cars, its going to be hard to find in south jersey around our area, some longer farm roads exists in Moorestown, but only so far.
