Introductions - Hello from Toronto!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just got a new bike for the first time in my adult life. I have discovered how fun, liberating, enjoyable, relaxing, strenuous, and adventurous cycling can be.
I ride a Norco XFR three on city roads, trails, and paths almost daily. I am interested on learning about how bikes work so I can get to know my bike better and one day be able to maintain and repair it.
I'm looking forward to learning and sharing on these forums. :)

No :( Wanna teach me?
I have a rough idea on how to use a patch kit to get me home/to the LBS.

welcome!
check out bike pirates on bloor, just east of dufferin. volunteer/charity run shop.
take your bike in with any problems, tuning issues, upgrades, etc + they have all the tools/used parts you'll ever need to fix/upgrade your bicycle.
the amazing thing about the shop is that the volunteers will tell you exactly how to fix/upgrade your bike, while making you do it yourself. this is how i learned the basic/intermediate skills of bike maintenance. very laid back, easy going environment.
check out bike pirates here (http://bikepirates.com/)
glad you are so excited about biking!
