Where does one go about getting plain (ie, non-team) skinsuits? Bibs & jerseys are no big deal, I can wander down to MEC/REI/LBS and find a plethora of nice colourful kit but as far as I can tell unless you have team skinsuits made up nowhere sells them.

In a pinch, you could race in your standard bib shorts and a compression top (Under Armor, Nike Pro, etc... found at any sporting goods shop). It essentially becomes a two-piece skinsuit for half the cost. Plus it's a LOT easier to get in and out of. Still just as hot as a regular skinsuit, too.

Sure, but I don't *need* a skinsuit per se, they're just nice. Mostly I race in a jersey and bibs

The compression top is more aero than the jersey. It doesn't flop around nor lets air though it, which is why it's good...but also makes it hot.

Castelli makes a speed suit. It's pricey, though.

I've seen some generic skin suits at Pearl Izumi.
