"Tomorrow" from Annie. Or "Yesterday" by the Beatles, in a strange nostalgic way.

Yesterday?
It strikes me as more of "the most depressing song ever".

The most depressing song to me is "Alone again, naturally". That sounds like a suicide song if I ever heard one  .
I still can't get this upbeat one out of my head. It's from an old Orowheat commercial. This guy is walking around the neighborhood, with a bouncy step singing "Good morning, good moooorning! Life's sweet with Orowheat! Good morning, good morning, to you!!!!" - as he's tossing boxes of dry crackers to every passer-by. (See? they have to GIVE them away). Aw geez. Now it's in my head :o .
Siu Blue Wind, I think that Orowheat commercial is a borrowing of "Good Morning" from Singin' In The Rain.
(And you're right, that is one of the all-time upbeat songs.)
Good Mornin'. Good Mornin'.
We've talked the whole night through.
Good Mornin'. Good Mornin' to you.
Good Mornin'. Good Mornin'.
It's great to stay up late.
Good Mornin'. Good Mornin' to you.
When the band began to play
The stars were shining bright.
Now the milkman's on his way.
It's too late to say good night.
So Good Mornin'. Good Mornin'.
Sunbeams will soon smile through.
Good Mornin'. Good Mornin'
To you and you and you and you.

Bobby Byrd's I Know You Got Soul really peps me up. Very funky pep, but still....

Gilbert O'Sullivan! He gave the lyric a read that belied its meaning. But it didn't just sound like a suicide song...
In a little while from now
If I'm not feeling any less sour
I promise myself to treat myself
And visit a nearby tower
And climbing to the top
Throw myself off....
On the other hand Elton John did a peppy little number called "I Think I'm Going to Kill Myself," that had to be the single most upbeat suicide song of all time.

With out a doubt, the most upbeat song of all times... not the pretender but the contender, not the chump but the champ... the undisputed upbeat song of all times...
SHOUT, the Isley Brothers.
The first call of "WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL You know you make me wanna SHOUT" can still get well past middle aged frat brothers jumping up, dancing in what appears to be random spasmodic twitching, doing the worm, despite having real jobs that make them wear a coat and tie. Let me assure you, it's NOT a pretty sight. and yes... beer MAY have been involved.
Steve W
WHO is doing the chair dance right now to it....

The Beatles - Hey Bulldog
I think it's the tone of the piece more than the lyrics, but I catch myself singing along every time I hear it.:D
If you want to bring in the (peppy) funk, I recommend the Hardest Working Man in Show Business:
James Brown - Get On The Good Foot
