Can anyone give me the model for this Peugeot?: http://newjersey.craigslist.org/bik/2533315503.html
Decent, fairly-priced bikes don't come up locally on CL very often ... what do you think of this one? I'm currently riding a mid 70s Motobecane Mirage, and would like something a little newer, with alloy cranks and wheels. Also, is that a "Vitus" sticker on the top tube?
TIA.

It looks in good nick but it wasn't a flash bike to start with.
The tubing sticker is Carbolite 103 I think, I don't recognise it as Vitus.
Carbolite 103 is a carbon steel, it was replaced by HLE ie Haute Limite Elastique, or high tensile. both are a lot heavier than CrMo.
The frame is either welded or perhaps internally lugged, they certainly did that later. The brake cable goes through a pierced top tube.
Nervar cranks. Some of their big rings were non-replaceable, and were a funny BCD too.
Rear Der looks like Shimano Exage 300EX, heavy but reliable. or possibly an old 105 RD-1050 6-speed.
There are fender lugs, which are hard to find on racier bikes.
