Decided to put my 1989 Specialized Allez Epic carbon fiber road bike up for sale on CL. It's in excellent condition. Selling because I have back problems and can't ride much anymore. I only have been doing grocery runs maybe once or twice a week, grocery store is about half a mile away. It has low miles, haven't rode it much in last 7 years. Shimano 600 components, Brand new Specialized Romin Expert Saddle ($120). Saddle hasn't even been used. And new new Vittoria Robino Pro III Tires ($84) I just put on not long ago, they have about 20 miles on them. New Deda bar wrap.
Frame is in excellent condition, no corrosion. I am the original owner. Haven't rode the bike since I installed the saddle in preparation of selling the bike.
Do you think $500 or best offer this is a fair price to start out with?
Here are some photos.

Way too high for a composite carbon bike with DT shifters. Expensive saddle and tires do nothing for value, I would suggest swapping them out.

What would you suggest?. I don't want to give the bike away. I do still have an older saddle that I had on the bike. I already one offer $450 but never showed. Seems everyone here on CL wants something for nothing. All the expensive bikes never sell. I may have have to to end up selling on eBay.
Early bonded carbon tube bikes haven't developed a large following, and that price seriously limits the possibility of a novelty purchase, as nice as it might be.
Either be patient and let it simmer on CL for a while or go to eBay.

OK. Thank you both for your replies.
ebay may not be a slam dunk. A frameset sold last week for $130, it got one bid. There is someone asking $650 for a complete bike, no bids of course. Your bike is quite a bit nicer than the ebay bike right now, so if it gets a bid (I doubt it), I would definitely put your bike out there.
$450 offer with a no show, is not really an offer. C/L is the land of no shows. Thats one of the downsides of C/L. Lots of flakes. I still waiting for some that were on their way, cash in hand..... I get email offers all the time, most don't show. Realize that email offers at best only commit the seller.

What size is it?
I'd offer you $400 shipped right now if that helps you put a price on it.

Was the bike in Tampa? I just saw a posting removed from Tampa CL. I think it is a very nice bike, good components. I think $400.00 would be close.

Yeah I was thinking about a lower price like that without my new saddle or combo of saddle and tires.
