General Cycling Discussion - Bike Co-op. Any Info?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just wondering if anyone has used or been involved with a bike co-op? There's one here in Tampa and I was thinking of going there to learn about working on my own bike with some guidance.
I'm involved with the bike co-op here in my city. Co-ops vary a lot between place to place; different co-ops have different cultures and goals. The co-op I joined started out as an offshoot of Bikes Not Bombs, but over the years has become less focused on specific programs/community initiatives and more on providing a space for everyone to come in and work on their non-motorized transportation. If you want to know what your co-op is like, the best way to do it is go and ask them. Every day we're open we have a few people come in and say, "hey, I've never worked on bikes before, but I'd like to learn," and we put them to work doing something useful and educational.

Helped set one up in Eugene , a second similar situation thru the outdoor program
for the tuition paying Duck types on campus.
The Eugene bike works , had an Hourly access fee, or an annual membership..
