On the left side of threads: grey flame, red flame, road rider in a tuck, road rider with a green + on the wheel?

Come on now, the "icon legend" is at the bottom of every page.

I don't understand what a "hot thread" is, and never have. I just look at whether threads have new posts.

edited: hmm, the icon legend doesn't really make sense, now that I think about it. Threads with new posts have the title in bold, and there's a blue circle "go to first new post" next to the title. That's all I ever look at - threads with new posts. These threads with new posts, also have either the red flame or the blue-grey open envelope. Neither of these are in the icon legend.

I say, there are too many icons, they add no value. And the legend is out of date. New posts, no new posts, and thread locked, are all you need.
