Anyone know anything about these derailleurs? I just got a brand new beater, and I always seem to luck out with finding beater bikes, as most that I find are higher quality than my newer bikes, just old. So I found this no-name frame that only says chro-moly on the sticker, but it's got fairly nice 1980-83 era components on it, as far as I can tell. I love downtube shifters, and friction shifting because it's so idiot-proof,(which is good 'cause I'm an idiot.) Everything on the bike works great, but I was wondering what kind of derailleurs these are, and the only websites I can find are in Japanese! The "Sunset for Suntour" article didn't really say anything about them aside from merely listing them.

You should take a look at the "Are SunTour components any good? " thread from earlier today. Also, just search on "Suntour" in this forum and you will find plenty of stuff.

Alpine Gear Tech, I put one of those on my first tandem. How big is your biggest cog on the back? That derailleur will handle a 38! Worked fine but with only 5 cogs on the freewheel you might find the spaces between cogs to be a bit on the spacey side.
