General Cycling Discussion - Can anyone recommnend a good custom wheel builder?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have been considering Universal Cycles & Colorado Cyclist so far.
Anywhere else I can look to get a top quality wheelset built?

Anthony at Longleaf Bicycles (http://www.longleafbicycles.com/), great guy to deal with and has very reasonable prices.

Stan's Arches on CK hubs. Still TBD about the spokes but leaning toward 14/15 butted. I am somewhat annoyed that black spokes cost more than silver ones...

Silver spokes will be stainless steel- Black ones might not be unless stated on the box they came in or from a reputable supplier.

I built a similar set for my son. On his we used 28 rear and 24 front Aerolite spokes. The Aerolite spokes is something that I wouldn't do again except under protest. There's a spoke holder tool that I found I really needed because they wind up so easily.

then buy the plain stainless ones.. .. It is an extra cost step
added to produce the spokes with the black patina...

Estabro, if you give the purpose of these wheels, then maybe you'll get a more specific direction.

Stanley at D&Q cycles in Cherry Hill, NJ. Jim Quinn at the Bicycle Link in Weymouth, Ma. (if they are still in business)

If Psimet didn't have what I wanted, I would go to Universal (http://www.universalcycles.com/).
I believe they are near CK and did a great job with my 29er wheels.
Price was competitive and they built my wheels in two days.

King hubs and Stan's hoops - that's going to be pricy anyway so don't be afraid to spend the last nickel to get what you really want.
