sorry if this has been answered before, I would like to put road tires on my hybrid I have 700cx35 hybrid tires on now and am looking to go to a more road tire, possible with tread siping but otherwise slick. I havent seen anything in a 35 that is slick how small of a width tire can i run without problems?

The hybrid riders who prefer narrow tires tend to go with 700x28.

I bought a set of these http://www.amazon.com/Continental-Sport-Contact-Bicycle-26x1-6/dp/B001EICWCG/ref=sr_1_3?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1313623862&sr=1-3 but have only put on the rear to replace a cut tire. May be kinda what you're looking for although they come in 28, 32 and 37, but not 35.

Yep. That's often the narrowest you can go on a typical hybrid rim. Flatbar roadbikes like a Cannondale Quick 1 have road wheels and can go to 23mm.
Take a look at the Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase (http://bontrager.com/model/00443) tire that came standard on my friends '11 Trek 7.3 FX. I ride with him quite a bit and am pretty impressed by them. They are basically slicks but last night I saw him go through some slop with them as well. They come in a 700 x 32 and 700 x 28.

I am running a set of these in 700 x 32 width on my Multitrack. I am impressed by how well they are wearing compared to the Contis I had been running. I use them on asphalt, stone dust and gravel without problems.

That's what I have. I recommend Serfas Secas (http://www.serfas.com/product_details.asp?ID=254). They offer damn good flat protection for a really good price. I got 2 of them for $25 apiece. I have gotten no flats over the 200mi that I've put on them. I actually did get one flat, but that was because the rim tape tore. I now have some good quality Velox tape. I think rim tape may be the cheapest bike part.
thanks for the advice/help everyone, I will probably go 32, mabey 28 ill have to measure to see how skinny they are. I do hit some offroad trails (hard pack and/or gravel) so i think a bit wider tire may work better for that.
+1 on the 28. I put some onmy crosstrail last week. Love em!!
Also my LBS gave me some rim tape not made of rubber but rather a cloth tape type thing. He said it was an old school rim tape. Then I put the rubber rim tape over that. Superior protection from the snake bites. Ive only put on 100 or so miles since I used it but so far so good.

Thanks, I was about to ask this same question. I had an OLD Memory of the shop I bought my bikes at saying I could go as small as 28's but that was 20 plus years ago and my OLD mind questions what it remembers!!?!

The Rigida Taurus 2000 rims on your Scott Sportster 30 are 622 x 19 and Rigida rates them for 28 - 62 mm tires.
I would not put a 62 mm tire on a 19 mm rim, but a 28 mm tire should be fine.
