Just wanted to take a second and introduce myself here since this is were I belong.
My name is Mike and I decided to start biking again after feeling as though I were about to die back in May of this year. I went hiking with a freind and could not keep up to save my life. It was about an 8 mile hike and a pretty decent change in elevation. It was a beautiful hike but at 5'10" and almost 290lbs I felt it was time for a change. I got home and dug the bike out of the garage. Started riding a little bit and put on 44 miles over the month. In July I was getting back into the hang of things and tradded up my $100 Target MTB for a Trek FX 7.3. Since July 18th I have logged about 327 miles on the new bike with a day long total of 35 miles. I have hit a plateau at about 270lbs as far as weight loss goes but know that is partly because of the muscle that I am building while riding. Its more about a how I feel rather than a how I look at this point. I know the how I look will come with time. At any rate here is a pic of the new bike on one of my rides.
