Hi all,
I'm looking to swap out my regular road bars with some carbon road bars and was wondering if I would be able to slide the brifters off of the old ones and put them on the new bars without recabling.
My plan was to undo the tape, gently slide the brifters out of the way and temporarily hold them to the frame of the bike, then bolt up my new bars and gently slide the brifters back onto the new bars. Can I do this without changing the cables?
The reason why I ask is that the cables and housing are brand new and I don't want to fiddle with readjusting everything and buying new parts. The bars are the same size (40cm center-to-center), just a different brand (3T vs. Easton). I don't think more or less cable will be needed with the new setup, but I wanted to be sure that I had enough slack to make this possible. Thanks in advance for any help. :)
