So I went ahead and tried to pull out my seatpost so I could go and install a new one a bought and the thing is stuck. I mean, it's really f***ing stuck in there - which is weird because I greased the hell out of this thing before. I can't even budge it. Now, I have some tools around the house that I could use to pry it out of there, but I was wondering if you guys had any advice before I resort to that and risk damaging my bike. Any tips?

cut it off flush with the top of the seat tube and find a post to fit in the remaining hole.

Bike shop(s)...best to do that first and find out what they can do before you mess up your ride.

It will come out. Any kind of lubrication and manpower, plus sledge hammer.

Bonus tip, free it first by knocking down, then pull out like prom night.

Yeah, this should work. If you have some penetrating oil or WD40 or something, now is the time to use it (assuming aluminum/steel parts, not sure on carbon). Take off your seat, spray the seatpost with the penetrant and give it a whack on the top with a hammer (use a block of wood if you care about saving the post). You may have to twist the post back and forth with a big pair of Channel-locks or some other pliers before the corrosion/rust cleans off enough to remove it.

Just keep your cool and watch what you're doing. Don't hover your face right over the tube (sounds obvious, right?) while you're reefing on it. Just when you least expect it, the post may give and smoke you in the eye socket.

I recently had the same problem with a stuck handlebar tube. I soaked it for a couple weeks with Kroil, then beat it with a hammer. Hit it down, then up, it came out surely, but slowly.
