Introductions - Hello from Spokane, WA

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I think I had a previous account as BiketoWork Barb but the system doesn't recognize me so I created a new one under the name of my blog, Bike Style Spokane.

I bike commute and ride recreationally in Spokane. I'm heavily involved in promoting biking and in transportation policy. In particular I want to encourage people to feel free to ride in regular clothes so biking seems more approachable for everyday transportation and not solely the province of people who do it for sweaty sport.

I also created a comprehensive list of women's bike blogs. The list with Twitter handles is accessible at http://bit.ly/WomenBikeBlogs. The account @WomenBikeBlogs on Twitter provides a daily featured blog and feeds from the ones I've featured so far as does the Facebook page facebook.com/WomenBikeBlogs. A wonderful community of bloggers is out there writing about all kinds of riding.

Currently I have only one bike, a Specialized Dolce I've loaded down with commuter gear. I'm in the research phase for a real commuter bike so I can strip the weight off the Sweetie and have more fun on those long weekend rides.
