I went out to Brandon Manitoba and mountain biked Friday night and all day Saturday. I drove back to Winnipeg, showered, dressed, changed to flat pedals on the Mark V, washed my hands again, grabbed a bottle of Blackbush and lock/chain. I rode to the party, locked my bike to the picic table in the backyard, and had a good time. About 3:30 AM I unlock my bike, ride home, and realize that my keys are sitting on the picnic table. I go back for the keys and get home (and inside) at 4:30AM.

check this out, yesterday I ordered a burrito from my favorite burrito supplier. I then got my bag, put in on, got on my bike (oh, my lock was all ready in the bag), rode over to the restaurant, got off the bike, locked it up to a fence, went inside, paid and received my burrito, went back outside, unlocked my bike, rode home, brought my bike inside my house, started to eat my burrito, then realized I was out of paper towels, and then used my sleeve. I know, I know--I’m such a dumb ass!

yeah, but how did the bag work out with the burrito and the lock? And does it matter if I have I use a NYC chain instead of a U lock? Any suggestions?

Today I rode my fixie to the mailbox, but the mail wasn't here yet, so I waited an hour then walked back out.

Well my friend, I shall clear it up for you. I just so happen to use a kryptonite combination cable lock. Which I should have specified in the yarn I spun above and with such a lock there is plenty of room for both burrito and lock and possibly extra chips and salsa and if I so desire--a piece of my favorite pie. And Yes my friend, I prolly know what you are thinking, ‘that eric von zipper is one lucky s.o.b, and do you know what? you are correct sir…life is grand.

One time I rode my fixie to a party too, maybe we know each other? It was almost as amazing but I didn't lose my keys, so you definitely have me trumped. Today I didn't ride my fixie, I rode the old Iverson 3-speed cruiser I just bought on saturday. In the morning I threw the chain once and then twice on the way home in the afternoon, and the second time the wheel slid in the dropouts and I had to walk it home. Now its much better, although I still only have two speeds, either 1 and 3 or 2 and 3, I haven't figured it out. Now I'm eating some lunch.

I use a dedicated burrito caddy on my bike. I guess one could just throw it in a bag, but I like to keep my precious cargo where I can see (and eat) it.

a bike is like a pie, they both have round things, and if you look at the wheel the spokes look like they cut slices in the wheel, like slices of pie. ohh ohh.. theres grease too, except the grease on the pie, is in the pan and on a bike its in alot of places, but mostly on the chain. Sometimes my pie gets cold and sometimes its too cold to ride my bike.

Won't it get cold, hanging out in the wind like that? Cold burritos make me sad.

can primates be pets? if so, then i think i'm in love with a monkey, not the spanking variety.

eric von zipper

Well it seems that monkeys like pie and if you like pie and monkeys and the monkey likes you it would be fine. I’d say this is a reason to celebrate burritos on me.

did you use your stash pocket to carry your burrito home??

The stash pocket that should be used to carry burritos home is called a stomach. Unless you are Joe Gardner (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=69174&highlight=3am+mexican).

I rode my fixie to a party on several different occasions. I wrecked my fixie on the way home from several of said parties. Luckily I was drunk enough that it didn't hurt until the next day.

I quit my job today, but I have a new job that has a bike lane all the way from my house to the office!

Oh, the cops also shot & killed a guy outside my office today (old job). I guess I made the right choice to go to the new job.

In my excessively long hiatus from work, I forgot how much I dislike it. At least with this job I can sit here and screw around on bikeforums.net If I get bored I guess I could try some artistic scarrification by chemical burns.

Last month I rode to the performance bike, bought something, went out to eat, then went to the movies...then when I got home, my housemate had her friends over (all women), and they ever so kindly pointed out that my fly was open.

No wonder why i got such excellent service that day!

I'd just like to say what's up to the fellow prairie boy ... unless of course you're not actually from said prairies ...

I am from said prairies, hence my name, though sadly stuck in ontario right now ...

I'd also like to give a shout out to riding fixies to parties involving blackbush ... it's by far my favourite whiskey of any kind ... drinking black bush, and riding a fixie are great ... nothing like a little whiskey to enhance flow ... although i'd be leary of platforms when drunk ...

go Propagandhi ...

As a teenager growing up in Botswana ( No I am a wasp Canuck, we just lived there), I would ride to parties and ride home hopelessly pissed. No street lights, no bike lights. If there was no moon, I would feel the crown of the road to stay on track. If you lost it, it was not parked cars, but thorn bushes.
One of the types of bushes was translated as the ' wait a while bush'. It had hooked thorns like cats claws. That was the worst. You just had to grit your teeth and pull yourself out in one smooth motion.

Burritos...Chicago...tacos...CIDS!!! El Cid off Logan Square! Technically, I think it is El Cid #3, but man oh man, many an hour did I spend there, quaffing comida y cerveza. Their dollar-to-taco conversion rate was one of the best in the city. They had this vegetarian taco (lard in the beans, but whatever, I'm an omnivore) that was amazing: served open-face on two corn torts, it was a copious smear of refritos, layer of rice, gob of cheese, big dollop of guac, sprinkling of tomato and lettuce and a snowcap of sour cream. See, whatcha did is pick up the whole affair with just the top tortilla, then carefully and with a little twist fold the sucker up and half the contents falls onto the second tortilla. Two tacos in one, for a BUCK TWENTY-NINE! And the best pico de gallo in the whole damn city.

I'm about to go eat a burrito. I don't like pinto beans in mine, just black beans, rice, guac, salsa, etc. I'm going to eat it and then turn it into poop.

last night i got drunk and rode my fixie to a burrito shop from the party. I had a rediculously large veggie bur. then rode back to the party. After i drank more beer i took a nap on the couch. I got up and played pool after that. And one time i rode my bike to my friend billy's house, his mom makes really good mac n' cheese, we played nintendo and then i made him a a marble.

El Cid #2 is what you are refering to, and it is the sh1t! My new fave there is the tacos de papa, which is spicy potatos and onions wrapped up in the afformentioned two fresh tortillas. I think you can have at least three and a Tecate for $5!

(I'll over a bottle of Cruzan Rum for the first person from Minneapolis (excluding Bex) that can identify that quote.)

no worries Rambo, I bet you can fix up a fixie in no time with a bowie knife and some fishing wire or is it fishing string or fishing line?

Also an update: I have now been twice in the last week or so to my favorite burrito supplier and still no paper towels or is it napkins or is it paper cloth? But I did use a clean shirt to wipe my hands and my mouth. I'm no slob.
