I'm looking for a hub.. ultegra rear 9speed 32 hole
can someone tell me what number Im looking for?
On ebay I see some that say 10speed .. would that be for 8/9/10?
or is the 10 specifically for 10 speed and it's a newer hub that won't work
with my 9 speed?
I was hoping to build a all black wheelset.. but no ultegra's are black... and I can't afford chris king.. is there another black hub I should look for?
thanks for any help.. Dwight in New Orleans

Ultegra has been 10 speed for 2 generations now, 6600, and the current 6700, the last 9 speed was 6500, however all of them (6500-6700) the freehub will take 7-10 speed cassettes with appropriate spacers.
If you want a black hub, what about using 105 (5700), this comes in black, and is almost as good, and normally a lot cheaper than Ultegra

Any Ultegra 32 hole rear hub will come with a 8/9/10 speed freehub. 6500 series was "9 speed" and will have a matching finish to other 6500 series components and accept 8/9/10 speed cassettes. If you want black and Shimano, look for a 105 hub. They have been offered in black for a while. If you want something lighter, you have plenty of options as well depending on your budget. American Classic makes very light and less expensive hubs than Chris King. DT Swiss makes some lower priced hubs in addition to their quite expensive higher end stuff.

black hub, super light, they have matching front ones too
I just recently bought a black 105, 32 hole and have a 9 speed cassette on it. Looks good, works fine, and cheaper than the Ultegra.
