Bicycle Mechanics - Spring Tune-ups

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Where is a good, all incompassing, place to learn how to do tune-ups? The local shop charges like $56 a pop, which is fine for once a year type stuff, but I should probably learn how to do this stuff myself.
thanks for the help,
tim.
A couple of months ago, Bicycling Magazine had a good issue on tune-ups. Check your library for back-issues.
Otherwise, get a book and get crackin.
Tune-ups are easy like Earth girls.

www.parktool.com and click on the maintenance tips or some button like that!
There are a lot of great description and pictures to show you what they're talking about!

If there is one drawback of the Park Tools instructions, it is that it appears you need a special tool for every job.
There are some nicely written books out there that show you how to get the job done with Sunday-handy-man tools.
