I remember watching alot of interviews during the '86 tour, and one in particular, after stage 21, where I could sense tension between the 2. Do they even speak anymore? I mean, I understand Hinault wanting to win his 6th TDF(putting him in rarified air @ the time), but, seems to me, that neither get along anymore? Anyone have any insight/info on them?

I read an interview by Lemond in which he said that he does not stay in contact with Hinault, but if he ran into him somewhere then he would still walk up to him to say hello.
I took this to mean that they probably feel pretty indifferent towards each other at this point. Now Armstrong and Lemond, yeah it's pretty obvious that those two hate each other. Same thing with Landis and Armstrong.

Think you're right on both. Check out this interview i found, where Greg talks about the tension between the 2:http://youtu.be/73ckM8g_oqw
Thought for sure, some 20+ yrs later, they'd atleast be on better speaking terms? shame. Seems as if Hinault still holds a grudge?
As for the other, I think for obvious reasons, neither Landis/Lemond like LA.

Dude, come on. I don't think Greg Lemond or Bernard Hinault would even care enough to post in this thread.

If you want insight check out Richard Moore's new book that looks back on the '86 tour, Slaying the Badger. It's not published in the US yet but you can get it from Amazon UK:

In interviews Moore says that the tension between the two has faded over the years but it's not like they're close friends.
