Vitus Messenger Spyro (http://www.vitus.fr/en/serie/messenger/spyro-32.html)

Any chance these are available in the States. As pictured it is not a a SS/Fixed, but it could be!

eh i ride both meself, nother week I'll have my winter fixie posted up.
for a work bike, well. even a work bike I'd want to go 105 and lose the tiagra, and a diff wheelset, something beefier that I can true on the road if ned be. I can't see those hubs and too lazy to look further..

cept I'd ride the blade they've got in their "Messenger" line up first, looks like they're saying it's playing second fiddle to the Spyro, must be that shock i wouldn't want making it higher end cause the rest of the blade is better than the spyro

Whoa... that thing's got 4 brake levers! All on a newfangled "multi-position bar"! Wish I could find me one of them Stateside... 'course, wish I could afford me some brakes...

Wow. That's ridiculous.

Seriously, there is nothing "messenger" about that but the name. Stupid-ass low spoke wheels too. Garbage. Me and Jobst Brandt are building barricades in the street this weekend if anyone wants to drop by.

yaah thats what I'm saying about it, too high maintenance for work, parts (esp wheels) too delicate for 8 hours a day everyday in the city. I know plenty of fellas ride high end stuff, but they still enjoy popping it up on the stand each and every day to keep it bikeshop pretty, or they have a shop of their own (literally)
me...well after all this time I'm happy to wipe it down and give it a good once over once a week. it's not that I've lost the love but rather like a marriage 10 years in. there's lotsa love, still a flame but well, ya know. everyday.

Sometimes I wonder how certain companies stay in business, you'd think they would do a little research to test the market before putting that horrid thing together.

That ride has an identity complex.

Somebody should tell it that it can't be all things to all people.

What do you mean? That's WHY they put that horrid thing together. It's not built for messengers, it's for people who like to read marketing copy about them and fantasize.

PS: It's not a bad bike, though a little too technogeek for yours truly.

Speaking of that, I went in to see Nadir today and picked up the bag. I'm very impressed, its really nice and comfy and the design is freaking rad quality! I didn't take the strap pad because my shoulders are too skinny for it though.

Four brake levers? It ought to have both discs and sidepulls! The antithesis of riding brakeless! (Or fixed for that matter).

whooo man....

if you look at the blade, and click for the details, then click on the handlebars, someone did the worst job ever of taping those bars up...i can't believe they let that go up on their website....

Well I've got a racing friend who does a worse job (really, Kelly's just 100% horrid at taping as far as I can tell), but I've done better. I've also done worse. But then I'm not being paid to make a job pretty to sell bikes on the Internets.

Probably some messenger did it. You know, distracted by the pies and whatnot.

How the hell would you be able to operate that thing? I mean, four brake levers, and the shifting mechanism looks like it's in a really funky spot... Plus I can't imagine what it feels like to ride a road bike with a squishy fork. (Scary?)

Does it have a remote control?
