Fifty Plus (50+) - The multi saddle thread

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
While NOS88 is working on his survey of single saddle types, I thought it might also be interesting to see how many different saddle types you ride regularly. I ride 4 types as follows:
Lynskey- Specialized Romin
Tarmac and Tricross- Specialized Toupe
Roubaix- Brooks Swallow Ti
Bianchi- Brooks Team Pro
A lot of people think you should find one saddle type that fits and stick with it. I prefer to alter the point of contacts with a variety of saddles. You?

On my upright bikes: Redline R530, Raleigh Superbe, Raleigh 20 and Raleigh DL-1 Tourist I use Brooks B-66/67 I may swap the one on the DL-1 for a B-33. On my tour bikes which are less upright I use the Brooks Flyer, except one bike has a Wrights 5N on it which is very similar to the Brooks B-17. That saddle is close to the end of it's usable life. On my Raleigh Sports I still have a Brooks...just happens to be the OEM vinyl mattress saddle  I left that one on there because the bike only gets ridden a couple of miles at a time and is left out in the weather when parked.

I've had Ariones on my road bikes, but when I moved part time to northern NM, I bought a 'cross bike that had a Tundra saddle. I've recently swapped it out for a Selle SMP Glide (massive cut-out and droopy nose). The Arione is great for multiple positions, but if you ride a lot in the same position, the SMP is a fine saddle. I'd like to try the new line of Fiziks that have more lateral flex, though.

I have 2 bikes, and three saddles:
1) Road bike, this is the saddle that came on the MTB, it's easily the most comfortable in the fleet, although I have no idea what it is...
2) Mountain bike, this is a fancy saddle we bought for the missus, she hated it, I now use it, I hope to retire it this winter, I don't remember what it is though...
3) This saddle came with the road bike, it's easily the most uncomfortable saddle I have ever been on, the only reason I keep it, is if I sell a bike, I am not wasting a good saddle.
I plan on getting a Brooks B17, for the road bike, then putting the old MTB saddle back on the MTB, putting the MTB saddle into storage, and tossing the one that is currently in storage.

Wow... I rode SI Turbos on my road bikes exclusively for over 25 years, up until this summer in fact. And before them I had a brief fling with a Brooks Team Pro.
