Winter Cycling - Would this make good winter bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I bought a Cannondale Comfort hybrid a few years ago to ride around the neighborhood with my wife. I ended up riding it on my 25 mile round trip commute and always enjoyed the bike. This year I bought a Surley LHT. I think I want to try winter biking and was wondering if the hybrid would make a good winter bike. It has a suspension front fork and suspension seat post, SRAM grip shifters and side pull brakes on the CAAD aluminum frame. It has a triple chain ring and 8 in the rear. The tires are 26x2. I would add studded tires and fenders. Appreciate any thoughts, tips and advice.
Some studded tires and fenders, with routine maintenance and practice, can make any bike into a decent winter bike. It depends on your particular commute route, street plowing, ice, etc. Your hybrid will probably be fine.
