Northeast - Parking bike in Rockefeller Center?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Does anyone know a good area to park bike (for no more than 2 hours) in Rockefeller Center? I'm afraid they have rules that does not allow bike parking in certain parts of the place? I don't see any bike racks there from the pictures.

There's the Rockefeller Center Parking Garage on 48th between 6th and Rockefeller Place. They have had bike parking for many years.

Thanks. I went there today (before seeing your reply) and only found one rack on 49th st., full of bikes squeezed in there. A few other bikes were locked to the street sign poles. I think they should add some racks there. I'll check out the one you mentioned next time I go there.

Check outside the buildings just west of 6th Avenue, there are bike racks there, at least outside of 1221 on 48th.
Went to Rockefeller Center again today. Didn't find any bike parking garage on 48th st. between 6th and Rockefeller Plaza :( Only saw a bike rack on the south side of 1221 Ave. of Americas, and a rack on 49th st., both were full. Ended up using a sign post like last time (hoping the tourists help watch my bike :)). Where is the bike parking garage exactly?

Where is the bike parking garage exactly? This link should show you where the parking spaces are: http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/bicyclists/bicycleparking.shtml Scroll down to Bike Parking at Garages and Parking Lots. Every parking lot/garage must allocate 1 bike parking spot for every 10 automobile spots. There is a parking garage at 10 W 48th.

-these two links regard edison parkfast's locations all offering a great deal on garage parking. If you are like me, fear of being stripped for parts, and being able to leave your panniers on & loaded, can be worth a couple bucks.
I used streetsblog to find a good list about 2 wks ago, but for some reason its not easily coming up in google right now.
also, this list is out there, but it seems over priced:

Thanks for the link. That is very helpful. However, the racks I saw are not shown on the map (nothing in the blocks between 48th and 50th sts., 5th and 6th ave.), so they must have more racks than shown, if the map is updated.

I can't believe I'm cheerleading a corporate parking garage, but...
Lots of others out there too
cranky velocist, thanks. My above reply was to SBinNYC before I saw your post. The links you posted are great, too. It's good to know there are places where we can park bikes for one whole day. The 24-hour ones can be very useful also when there is rain and one can't return home on bike.
