...whilst drunk out of my face after an alleycat. Not a biggie, though. Strained shoulder, few scratches. A week off work as cannot lift anything ...
What did I learn? Not much ;)
Oh yeah, and ****ed up my Nishiki frame in the progress. Not a biggie, scored a 55cm Colnago roadie frame from early 80's for 40 euros :D
Wreching to commence...

What's one more night in the gutter? Good times.
"a weekend wasted is never a wasted weekend"
Hehehehe.. I did something like that a couple of weeks ago. Drunk out of my face and tried to ride home. I was travelling at a good clip and simply -fell over-. I then jumped back on and decided to ride even faster as I was convinced it would "help my balance".
I fell over again, on the same elbow.
God I hurt the next day.

theres nothing big or clever about drinking and riding :p

What about riding under the influence of Ketamine or some other drug?
Riding faster to keep your balance often works well for me. The amount of pain experienced the next day does go up if it doesn't work.

I would imagine riding on K would be much harder that many other drugs (but maybe that's just me), due to its "dissociative" effect at subanaesthetic doses. In other words, communication between mind and body is reduced.

I was riding maybe 10 mph the other day and started sliding in a turn on some wet pavement. Slid right over, scraped my elbow, looked around like a cat when it does something stupid. Did anyone see me? Nope. Picked up my bike got on and rode off.
The funny thing is the whole thing was super slow motion, saw it all the way, was sober, and couldn't do jack about it.
Glad you weren't hurt too bad.

I was riding home the other night, about 2 in the morning. I was hauling @ss for the lawn, you know, wet grass=fun. I went up the sidewalk and hit the grass, next thing I knew I was flying through the air. I landed with a tremendous thud, then a couple rolls. I was lying there, maybe not unconsious, but not willing to move. I'm not sure which it was, but I dont remember it all. I heard a bunch of voices and opened my eyes. I was in a circle of drunken college kids, I think they are the neighbors. I looked around at all their concerned faces, and laughed. Not just any laugh, but one of those overly dramatic, screaming, cackling, wasted off you @ss laughs. I was completely shnockered. My bike is ok, my knee aches. I keep forgetting I told people the story, so i keep repeating it, I think i hit my head pretty hard.

Heheh
Not drunk (but a few drinks), I was going to hop up a curb - average sized even - go to do a little skid to get my feet right... some reason skid didn't happen, but I went through with it anyway. DAMN! pedal hit curb, bucks me up, I land over the bars on my elbow. A girl seems to rush over goin.."are you alright? do you need help?" etc. etc.... I'm just laughing hysterically, and so's my friend. No harm to bike, sore elbow, and ego.
But running into a lamp post?!? That's gotta take it!
Too bad about the bike and shoulder. A week out of work is a week without cash, no?

Once, just a little tipsy, I was riding through Cambridge, Mass just as it was misting. Not enough rain to wash anything away, you understand, just enough to really get that film of oil up and into play. I was moving up between traffic real slow and deliberate like and hit a thermoplastic crosswalk. Without warning my rear slipped out from underneath me (whoop!) and I landed on my ass on the crosswalk just as the light was changing. Left a big old bruise on my left check and a U-shaped welt on my right from the lock. It took me a week to be able to sit down properly.
That and the time I was just riding along and fell over for no good reason at all convinced me that it's not generally a good idea to ride drunk. No need to be pulling that junk in traffic.

This makes it very hard. It is a good idea to ride, and it is a good idea to be drunk. What's a boy to do?
