Well, I found a Colnago...

It's a Colnago Sprint, more specifically, with a Shimano 600 group (everything except the rear hub). I hope the anti-Colnago faction doesn't shun me ;) I think this one is down-to-Earth enough to avoid some criticism?
Tubing is "Columbus SL Cromor Composizione Colnago"... which I don't know much about. Separately, I know what SL and Cromor are, but my sticker says both names together. Maybe the main tubes are SL and the stays/fork are Cromor?
I've just finished getting it road-ready... it wasn't too far off, but the rims needed truing, etc. I also ordered some toe clips and straps.
...incidentally, I would have added this to the sticky thread instead of making my own, but I can't access that thread anymore. I get a message saying something to the effect of 'not having permission'... anyone else experience this?

Nice work! I agree, it's understated and muted in its color scheme.
Did you pick that up off Portland Craigslist? I didn't see it on there but then again, I have been absent from the 'List for the last few days.

I think that's about the nicest looking Colnago I've seen. Love the green and think you made a great score getting that one!

That color is a refreshing change of pace from all the other Nagos.

Great bike!
Looks beautiful, and that Shimano gruppo is just fine. Should give you some real trouble-free riding for a long time to come.
I would opt for gumwalls however when she needs new tires.
Yes beautiful! Congrats! Love the green!
Very pretty bike! (Are you at UP? The dorm furniture looks familiar.)

Thanks for the kind words! I feel lucky to have found it... especially considering that the guy I bought it from was planning to make it a commuter!

It was on Craigslist initially, but I wasn't in town. I contacted the seller nonetheless, and a month later, I wound up buying the bike.

That's what I'm thinking too... the tires it came with are in great condition, though, so I'll probably leave them on for a while.

Hey Baroudeur, are you the guy that was trying to choose between this Colnago and a beautiful red, white and green Bottechia?
I remember seeing your Colnago in a thread where the OP was trying to decide between this bike, the Colnago, or the Bottechia. I remember I chose the Bottechia...

Your new Colnago looks to be in great condition and I like the colour scheme too. It looks to be in very original condition.
I found the following page on the bulgier website - Colnago 88 catalogue. I was interested in the tubing as you are and I see it listed on the catalogue page. I think you may be right in thinking that the frame is a mixture on SL and Cromor tubes - main tubes Cromor and forks SL for example.

That was indeed me... at the time, I was indecisive, but the more I thought about things, the more I was drawn to the Colnago. It seemed to have a stronger personality... I can't really explain it.

Here's a picture of the tubing decal, in case anyone's curious or has more insight :

Well, I think you did great.
Both bikes were really wonderful and either would have been the right choice IMHO. Enjoy the Italian passion and ride her well!
