I'm doing it again. I've always enjoyed it. Starting at 7 AM should be done before it gets that hot.

I'll try to post up my experience....I fully expect to be dropped from the lead pack at sometime during the 100 miles, but I'm going to give it a go!! I did finish with the lead pack during the RAIN (Ride Across INdiana) this year, we averaged just over 23 mph for 160+ miles....I hear the lead pack averages 25+ mph at Clarksville, so I'm hoping I can deal with the pain and muscle out the 100 miles for a decent finish.
Good luck to all others riding!!!

Hope you guys had fun on the Century! I did the 61 mile ride in under 3 hours total (no rest stops) and was back at the start by 10 AM....before it got too hot.
I'll be riding out of the Cav Country gate at FT Campbell tommorrow morning for at least 50 miles.

Super fast ride with the Elite group today!! I got dropped at 86 miles, average speed at that point was 26.2 mph. I finished in 4:06 with a 24.5 mph average. I didn't bonk at 86 miles, my quads just had nothing left. What an amazing work-out!!
This was a great ride, well organized and marked very well....I'll be back next year!

That's a really fast course. I think the record was set in 2008 at like 3:44.
No need to wait a year. The CRAM is held at the same location with the same route. It's held in May I think.

Very hot this year. A train stopped across the road in Guthrie. After waiting a little while a local told us that there was an over pass about a mile up the road. So about 20 or 30 of us took the detour. It ended up being about 3 miles total. I ended up with 103.03 mi at 5:13. Which was the fastest I have ever rode the ride.
I lost contact with the group I was with for about 15 miles before I was able to find a new group which probably cost me the chance at sub 5 hours.

I passed thru Guthrie a little before the train came passed through on the 61 miler. I figured that people would be stopped by it.

I took the detour around the train also, just as I was pulling up to the water point the train had moved.
That was a hot ride. Finished in 5:42, going to need awhile to recover!
You can say that again! I did 5:52 on my fixed gear. It was so damn hot and there was no shade near my truck at the end. I grabbed a cold beverage from my cooler, dropped my tailgate and crawled under!

It was a heck of a hot ride. My bike thermometer showed 110 degrees for the last ten miles, which took a hour. I must have beat the train in Guthrie. Finished in 5:36 and at 17.8 mph average which I think is good for someone eligible to be an AARP member.
