that is a great find, my friend just bought the same bike for not $50 :) I've found that miyatas from that era are very nice, my brother has the lower model 110 from 86 or 87 and even that's a really nice ride.

I have the same bike in Burgandy. Bought it new, and have several thousand miles on it. Yours looks like it has less than a hundred. Good find, great price.

They are a funny brand though, in that they run the gamut from dirt cheap, like your deal, to very expensive. You might find a 310 in great shape like the OP's here going for $300 and up on the bay. It seems that some people really think they are high end and try to sell them as such, while others treat them as if they are a cheap Japanese brand. My guess is that they fall somewhere in the middle. Well built, good value, nice components and a pleasure to ride.....

It was this clean when I found it. All I did was hose off the dust. The fella I got it from claimed it was bought for his wife and she never rode it.

Nothin' wrong with that at all. For sure it's far better than the best bike on the racks at Target these days.

The 310 is a very nice bicycle... had one for some time and passed it along to a friend who needed a really beautiful bike.

I love a three ten. Here is one converted to 700c and the last of the triple butted frames. 217307

Swapping to 700c is pretty easy. I had to borrow the wheels off my Club Fuji and all I needed was to adjust the brake pads a little and adjust the derailleur for the seven speed cluster. The 23 mm tires perked up the ride too. The frame looks kind of funny with all that clearance, though.

You found a nice bike, I really like Miyata's, I think they had the best steel frames ever built by anyone! The splined tubing was their creation, later Columbus applied the technology to a couple of their tubesets. I have two Miyata's, one I bought new in 87 a Team with Dura Ace; and the other I bought used for $100 at a garage sale, a 88 712 with 105 SIS. But those frames are the same, the forks are different, but those bikes just surge under me. The 310 you found was their entry level semi pro racing bike, it didn't have the splined tubing because they hadn't invented it yet, but the frames they made even without the spined were very well made. The older Shimano 105 was also very reliable group set, the only oddity was this model had 27" wheels, the next ones up had 700c, not sure why they did that.

That's a nice color by the way, you'll get compliments on that bike. Of all the 80's bikes I own I get the most compliments on a bike the same color as yours, but that one is a 85 Schwinn LeTour Luxe. Yours looks brand new too...again very nice fine.
