Cyclocross - Brake lever choice

Well, this might seem like a daft question.
I'm thinking of converting my Cross Comp to a 1x10. If I do it I'll use a Thorne ring and a Paul single ring guide. I have Shimano 105 shifters (5600) and herein lies my quandry. What brake lever would you recommend using to complement the right shifter? I just don't want anything too clunky looking and I want to be sure that the reach to the levers won't be off or awkward feeling. I'd really apprecate any suggestions you might have.

I would just leave the 105 shifter on there. On those ones, the brake cable goes under the bar wrap and the shifter cable comes out the side, right? Can you cut the cable short (<1"), put a ferrule on the end, and solder the cable to the ferrule?

shimano has a non brifter aero lever set too. might build up a 2 speed with dual chainrings with the
remaining parts of the pairs of each.

The new Tektros linked above seem to be the closest to the old style shimano hoods. I've used the Campy shaped Tektro and cane creek levers and the shimano levers, which are shaped nothing like their brake/shift levers. The shimano levers have a smoother, more solid feel but they are tiny and just awfully shaped. I would go with the tektros.

Or you can just use the existing left shifter but if you are like me it is annoying to have a bunch of moving parts that don't do anything.

Such a minor weight penalty but if youre going with a non-brifter I really like my Cane Creek ones. They feel way better than the Tektro ones I tried due to a flatter top section.

Thanks guys. I might go with the Tektro. Why doesn't Shimano just make some brake levers that match their brifters?!?
Sram and Campy do - ah well. I do have the Cane Creeks on my singlespeed and I like them. So a couple of good options I suppose.
