In Commuting forum I have been getting advice on building a new bike...
<<Building a commuter for my wife around a Soma Buena Vista frame [sized for 26" wheels]>>
Now need advice on brakes...
I want to use centre-pull brakes on the middle rear stay.
I had some NOS Cherries ready but faced 2 problems:-
1. Straddle was too short to go around seat tube - solved.
2. Reach was insufficient - not solved.
Soma site - "42cm model uses 26" wheels and 73mm reach brakes (like Tektro 556 or Rivendell Silvers)"
Any recommendations for centre-pull brakes with adequate reach?

Thanks
John

There's long reach Weiman/DiaCompe, I measure 'em at ~78mm max reach.

Harris Cyclery has DiaCompe 750 Centerpull Calipers, 63-75 mm reach, as do others. DiaCompe's licensed version of the classic Weinmann 750.
