The batteries died. I have TWO Lafree Electric bikes, (His and Her set). The batteries are 12v12ah sealed lead acid x 2, for 24 volts. They are sealed in a plastic case, which is inconvenient to disasemble.
I had the batteries out of one case, and more recently, the batteries in the other went dead. They only had 5.5 volts each, or 11 volts in series. The lafree circuitry sucks, there is always some drain on the batteries.
If I could rig it so the two SLA,s are mounted without their plastic case, and I could use a different charger, I would keep using these bikes.
There are THREE terminals , 24 volt, 5 volt, and Ground.
Can I use a 5 volt voltage regulator, like what Radio Shack sells in it's parts bins, to send a fake 5 volt signal to the controller?
The battery cases are now screwed back together, and put on a shelf in a closet, along with the chargers.

Any advice?
