My wife, Nora (73yo), did 15 miles today on the Rio Grande Trail - the longest she has done in quite some time, due to some medical problems, etc. This included 450 feet of climbing between Carbondale and Basalt. The section we rode borders the Roaring Fork River, and is a beautiful trail.

I loved that trail and hope to do it again sometime. I hope you stopped at the coffeehouse in Carbondale we visited.

We didn't, but thought about it.
It is raining lightly today, and the radar shows more coming in. Nevertheless, we are heading with high hopes to Basalt to continue the ride on up to Woody Creek. If not doable, we will walk/hike somewhere. We are not totally prepared for rain - heck, it just doesn't do that around here, and it was not in the forecast.
Congratulate Nora on her achievement for me.

Though my problems were minor, in the grand scheme of things, I do know how GOOD that first 15 mile ride feels when you're coming back from a medically induced layoff. Big PROPS to Nora and may she -and you- have many more
WONDERFUL! CONGRATS, NORA! MAY YOU HAVE MANY MORE!
And may you smile just a little more with each one..............

Denver, that must have been rewarding for both of you. It's good to hear that she's able to do this.

Congrats Nora! I'm particularly impressed by that 450 ft of climbing. I'm 20 years younger and I don't think I could do it. Kudos!
