Can anyone please tell me how to install a freewheel, which side does it go on?

i think it depends on the freewheel (left or right side) and the hub

95%+ of freewheels are on the right side of the bike. They come in two sizes, regular and down-drive or flip-flop sized. Regular is 16 tooth and larger freewheels and the smaller one is under 16 tooth (15 and smaller).

A freewheel simply screws onto the hub. There is no special tool need to install it. To remove an old freewheel though you need a freewheel removal tool or to hit it off with a hammer and screwdriver. The hammer/screwdriver method does not always work.
