Well, I tried it and it failed. First, it would stop working as I was riding, I stopped and turned the switch and it would work again. Last ride with it it just stopped working. I'm thinking it is the switch. Any ideas for troubleshooting it? As it took six weeks to get after ordering I don't look forward to sending it back to dealextreme for repair or replacement.

Another guess would be some junk floating around inside. Open it up and blow it out with canned air; if you really think it is the switch, spray it with contact cleaner. Trade battery packs with someone to see if it might be a bad battery cable.
On case you have TWO problems (spontaneous off and something in the pack that it is off always now):
Test the battery pack for voltage. More and more protection circuits show 0V when tripped. Charge the pack and see if it comes on.
If the pack has voltage but light wont come on, send it back - hard to depend on a safety device that...isnt.
