Hi everyone. I've been reading the forum for years, and am happy to finally be joining the conversation today. I've had several bikes throughout the years: toy store 10-speeds, Cannondale and KHS mountain/urban assault rides, a Fuji Track, and now a Raleigh Rx 1.0. I have done fair amount of maintenance and component upgrades on my own--far less than many of you, but I'll be glad to offer any lessons I've learned from my experience where I can.

My main reason for joining today is that I pulled a 1970's Bridgestone out of a dumpster over the weekend, and I need some help determining what it is, exactly. I'm thinking about turning into a single-speed commuter, but I don't want to alter it too much if it's worth substantial money as-is. If you have time, please take a look.

Thanks DEK, I suppose I should have thought of that first. :o Anyway, I just did as you suggested - hopefully someone there knows what I found.
