Recreational & Family - Bike for wife: Jamis Citizen or Diamondback Vital

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone have experience with these two models? The wife is looking for a new ride and she likes the comfort style. These two models fit the bill. Would like to hear pros and cons of these bikes from anyone who owns either or has any experience with them. I know both models come in three sub models. We would most likely go with the middle bike, Citizen 2 and the Vital 2. Thanks in advance for any and all advice offered.

We got my wife a Diamondback Vital 2 on sale from Dick's and she loves it. It's got a nice cushy ride from the spring in the seatpost as well as a well-padded seat. The handlebars sit high, providing a comfortable ride position. The front suspension also absorbs the bumps very well. It's just a bit heavy, but she's able to keep up with me on my Trek Mendota, while I pull my 2 kids 6 and 3 in the trailer. On the trails I'm going around 15 MPH, and she's able to keep up fine. Hope this helps.
