Cyclocross - My New Cyclocross Ride

Here she is. Will have a Paul's Components chain catcher and a Garmin 800, but this is pretty close to done. Going to be selling the 2010 S-Works Tricross frame (54) she replaced.

I replaced the cross-specific gearing with my Rotor "Q"rings on a Rotor 3D 130 BCD spider--at least until I decide if I'm going to do any racing on it.

Mines a 2012, but a limited edition paint job.

Just weighed it, 16.6 lbs. as pictured. Nice!

how many teeth is the chain ring?

It's a 34 from a compact crank. I may get a bigger ring but would need to have it recalibrated.

I assume you're getting the BB-mounted version of the chainkeeper?

I personally would want a bigger ring, I think you will find yourself spinning out on anything pavement and even slightly downhill. 40t? Anything you can't ride on 40/27 you can just push or carry.

But I'm just quibbling, that is one sweet ride.

Nope, seat tube mounted chain catcher with an extension. Should have it any day. The BB is press fit so nothing to mount to.

I have a 11-23 on there now. Even with a 34, I can do 30 mph @ 120 rpm (my comfortable max). It is very rare on courses out here (Illinois) that we can go that fast for any length of time. At 100 rpm, I'm still doing 25 mph and this is typical in fast sections.

I plan to try it and if I end up spinning it out very often, I'll change to a 39 and have the quarq re-calibrated.

The Garmin is for navigating the course? I just follow the guys in front...and when they disappear, I just stay between the tape markers. :)

But seriously...I run an 800 as well. Nice computer. Most recent firmware upgrade allows 5 bike profiles.

I also picked up a broken 500 on ebay cheap, then sent it in for repair. I use that on my race bikes....don't usually need the nav. <g>

Use the 800 to record the power data from my crank. I really like the 800 over the 705, didn't think I would but I do.
