Introductions - New Old Rider Back in the Game - Hi

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm a mature and very active gal and wanted to take riding up again following a decade layoff - just recreational but serious enough that I'm willing to commit 3-4 days a week.

Saw and used "Bike Forums" extensively in selecting my a new bike and digs (come on now, bikes are like shoes and a girl never has enough), as my old one was stolen a few years ago out of a locked, screened patio and yard.

Anyway, I'm really pleased to be a part of this forum and it was quite helpful as I obsessed over purchasing a new bike - settled on the 2011 Marin Highway One and dying for it to arrive :p

I live in LA, co-own a small consulting practice, travel a bit and missed bicycling so much as a compliment to Pilates that . . . I'm Back, Jack!

Take good care everyone,

Rachel

Hi - I'm strictly recreational but love the wind and the great feeling of spinning along, lost in the music of the rider's high as the miles drift by. I've got a ways to go to get back into it, but this weekend did do two short rides: ~ 35 min and and hour. My bike seat and derrière are still negotiating the comfort zone. :-) Hoping to be back in the full swing of things by Xmas . . . and since we have great weather in LA, I'm hoping December is full of nice rides along the Pacific.

I'll check out the 50+ forum - thanks

Welcome to BF and welcome back to cycling. I looked up the Marin Highway One and that's a nice looking bike. Congrats.
