I picked up this Schwinn recently and put some new wheels/tires on it after tuning it up. Previous owner repainted the entire bike. Number on the head badge is 1477, so I'm guessing it's an '87 Schwinn Prelude because of the extra water bottle holder bosses? I believe the SR bars are original, too.

Later 80s. Either a Traveler or LeTour? It doesn't look like Columbus tubing. And if it were a Circuit or Tempo, I would expect Cinelli bars.. You could try scraping the lime green away and see if the original color is exposed. Look on the fork, rear triangle, and main triangle - different colors (including chrome) could help narrow the model down.

If you can clean the head badge, you might also be able to see the stamped date code.

I'd go with Tempo as well due to the partial wrap around seat stay attachment to the lug. On the Prelude they only attached on the sides.

Make sure that seat post is 26.6mm.

Look at the 1987 Specifications (http://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1981_1990/1987_17.html). They all take 26.6mm seatposts except for the Circuit (27.2mm) and the World (25.8mm).
