Glad to make everyone's acquaintance. New here, not new to bicycling. I've ridden since I was about 6 (I'm 66 now), and I've owned a fairly decent assortment of bikes. Of course, I owned an old Schwinn or 3 (a newspaper bike=beach cruiser to all of you), an old 3 speed, (several bikes which must not be mentioned, in between) and then a Super LeTour (late 70's), which one of my many children used as a rockhopper (adios, friendly bike), and now a Gary Fisher Aquila (1996, I think), which I purchased new, and has given excellent service on the trails and streets around San Diego. Since my kids are grown, I still have that one, and will keep it. Looking now, at the advanced age of 66, to get a touring bike and "go somewhere." I like biking better than any other exercise, and MUCH prefer it to jogging, since you can actually "go places" in less than a day, and arrive mostly-clothed.
Can't bike to work, since I'm a real estate broker, but I used to, every day, in another life. THAT is fun (especially when there's a traffic jam, and a sidewalk, but that's another story).
Glad to meet everyone on the forum, and I wish all of you an excellent day.
