Mountain Biking - Kona Cowan (finally have the pictures)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

After 2 a month of owning the bikes, I got my digi cam to work. I couldn't find the right shimano BB for it and i was deperate to ride it so, I put on the 5d's. This is built for some hardcore stuff. The gussets are strong and I think there is a good weight to strength ratio. Planning for single speed as soon as the derilleur explodes. ;)

Rides like a dream. I find its easy to manual on it and has really good balance. the shorter chainstays makes the bike feel good overall.

that doesnt look stock, did you swap parts, or build on the frame.

Great looking ride. What kind of bars are you running?

I'm not sure whether I want to sex it or gap some stairs on it... perhaps both? :p

What does gapping mean?

And be honest, can you gap stairs?

(I'm assuming it's jump?)

Titec Ringleader.

Next upgrade. Probably a bashguard or something. Third chainring is never used.

some people call jumping a stair set to flat gapping it, but gapping stairs usually refers to jumping over one set and onto a second set and using it as a landing. (if you go fast enough you cant even feel the stairs on a hardtail.) check it out (http://galleries.mtbreview.com/mtbr/gallery/files/stairgap.asp)

From what I understand, gapping is just jumping or hopping from one object to another, usually clearing somthing, such as stairs, benches, water, or any thing like that. I could be wrong though.

I like what you've done with the bike but get rid of those rims and tires. Go for black rims and big freeride tires.

Not for the purposes the bike was made for.

He's pretty okay with them from what I know. Obviously they're not top priority since he said he needed a bashguard already.

I know, but I couldn't seriously see me doing anything agressive on a bike

Are those Norco grips on it? They look like the grips that came on my bike.

sweet looking ride! digging the bright orange color.

i looked really hard at getting one of those when i was shopping for my last frame, but they were just starting to come out then, and were still hard to find.

looks great; i'm assuming it rides that way!

HAHAHAH they are. You got good eyes.

After my bashguard my money will be saved up for a wheelset (521/xts). Then the spending should be put on hold. ;) ....probably not gonna happen
