Just got the most disappointing piece of mail I think I've ever received:

"Fellow Tennessee cyclist:

Thank you for your interest in the 'Share the Road' license plate which was proposed in order to promote
cycling in our state. I regret that our effort to obtain the required one thousand commitments has not
been successful. It appears that there will be no cycling plate in Tennessee, at least for the time being."

I don't know whether to be angry at myself for not doing more, the bureaucracy that makes it difficult to get anything done anymore, or the other couple hundred people we needed to get the plate that did nothing. Nobody's fault I guess--it just really bums me out:(. Any suggestions from other states would be welcome for the next go-round....

Have a grass roots campaign! Contact as many cycling clubs in your state as you can! Is there a Bicycling Advocate in the State? They would certainly help! Contact your local school for support. Your local Church(es) other organizations. Start now...do not wait until next year! Good luck!

South Carolina has 3.8 million people but got the 1000 signatures for it's plate.

For now, how about at least a "share the road" license plate frame?
