OK. So I'm now an official "old-timer" at 66. Still ride, and would ride to work if I was not a real estate broker ("I'll have to have a 3 hour advance notice for that appointment, sir..."), love San Diego, where I live, and love bicycling. It's the best thing ever invented for exercise (you can't ride all over town in a swimming pool), and a great way to see the town--or the world. I'm hoping to do some longer-distance touring, and so I'm going to shop for a good touring bike. Current bike is a Gary Fisher Aquila MTB (1996, still made in the good ol' US of A); any suggestions on used bikes & gear are welcome (steel, please, I'm 225# soaking wet). I'm a researcher, so I have found out quite a bit. Mainly that if I had been able to keep my '80's Super LeTour, I probably could have used that, with a few modifications--such as a new rear cassette and a triple front chainring, racks and a trailer. DARN. Loved that bike. But when your kids decide to go rockhopping with it and don't tell you, it's sorta "all finished."
No worries, though. They are grown and have their own kids, so I'm getting my revenge quite well, thank you.
Anyway, HI!
Hope everyone here has a great day!!
