I can’t stand it anymore either. I’m new here. Please allow me to introduce myself (sounds like a Stones song in my head on the way home). I’ve been commuting during good weather months since 1988. I just found this site via the ICEBIKE site a few weeks ago and have been reading post every since. This past winter (if you call that a winter) I decided to not let the weather stop me, bought fenders and lights for my mountain bike and am proud to say weather didn’t stop me once. Now that spring has sprung (82 F / 27.77778 C/300.9278 Kelvin) I’m back on my road bike (which feels like a rocket after the mtn. bike all winter) my 12-mile commute has rapidly changed to 35-45 miles and I’m having a blast.
The post that really caught my eye was ‘How do you keep from stinking?’ We have had showers at my office until last month, but due to ‘corporate downsizing’ had to give up that part of that part of the building. My ‘MO’ is : Drive my car to work on Monday with all my cloths for the week, ride Monday night through Friday morning then drive home Friday night. I keep an old ‘junker’ (cheap to insure) car just for this purpose, tell my insurance company that is my primary car and that my other vehicle is for ‘occasional use’ therefore cutting insurance cost on it. Sorry this is so long, but it’s been building up a while.

Just so you all know, he's not my alter ego!

Hey, Ohio! You sound just like me, all the way down to the location. I miss my old job because they were right along the river bikeway, had flex-time, and had showers in the basement. I'm working for the county board of MRDD (alas, no showers, no flex-time...) and have learned to make do with paper towels and smart-a$$ comments about my bike shorts.

You'd probably stomp me flat, but we should get together for a ride...
