Hello All,

My name is Sam Smith and, strange as it may seem for a new resident of Los Angeles, I plan on commuting every day to school (I'm a first year grad student at UCLA). I will gleefully accept the small nuggets of advice and the great deal of pity that I'm sure to get from a forum like this one. Having biked to school in high school, I look forward to getting, literally and proverbially, back on the saddle. Coffee and the speed of a bicycle are a potent combination in the morning.

Happy Trails,

Sam

P.S. If anyone has some knowledge about old road bikes, I would appreciate your advice on a Nishiki I'm considering. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/bik/2590100490.html

Welcome to BF. Post your Nishiki question in the Classic & Vintage forum. You'll probably get better response there.
