Don’t know what your winter’s like. Not recommended for competitions,
but for icy conditions I find these monsters quite effective.
The weight is 2 lbs each !!, so it’s quite effective training as well.
Brand and name : Nokian, Hakkapeliitta W240, 700x40

What bike to you put them on? I haven't seen many bikes that will clear a 700x40. And doesn't Nokian make a (something)106 winter tire at 700x37?

Well. I have to admit it’s more important now than ever that the wheel stays true, but most CX frames can handle these tires.
Fitting them to an open pro rim or similar could be a problem though because the narrow rim could make the profile of the tire get even wider. There again. Who’ll mount 40mm steel bedded clinchers on a 20mm rim
I use the T520 (now a719) my selves for my CX wheels. Bit on the heavy side, but they can really take the beating.
And yes. Nokian makes a 106 model, but they are even wider (700 x 45)
Innova have a 700 x 35 studded tire. Not so agressive pattern as the nokian.
