I have ridden in hurricanes and thunderstorms (although no tornadoes), and I would have to rank full blown nor'easters (blizzards) as by far the most unpleasant. Steady high winds with "knock you over" gusts, drifting snow, brutal wind-chill...there is nothing pleasant about this. Although, if you have the right gear (see second picture below), you can stay warm and dry, but it is still a long trudge home.

Yikes! Although I am impressed with people that ride bikes in snow, ice and wind. I cannot see this scenario happening for me. :)

I'm digging that classic bullet headlight. :thumb:

It works quite well with the hub generator in the rear... with a better quality incandescent bulb it throws a decent amount of light at relatively low speeds and is highly visible.

Will augment that with a battery powered LED (provides a backup too) and at some point will replace that with a Lumotec LED headlight which is many times brighter and has a run life of 100,000 hrs.

Here is a little secret... it is not nearly as hard as you think it is.

I ride every day regardless of the weather.
