hey, i'm a newbie around here.

anyways, i was just wondering about the rules on riding on logging roads. there's no other way to get to the top of some of these mountains. is it ok to bypass the gates and signs (they say "no atv's" but not "no mountain bikes") if theres nobody around. can i get in trouble for trespassing?

Unless bicycles and/or pedestrians are specifically prohibited, I say go for it.

I would too. Usually they are referring to motorized vehicles. The worst they could do is run you off. (Or shoot you) ;)

Or drop a five ton log on your @ss :D. We used to meet big logging operations occasionally in the Scottish mountains and some of the heavy plant machinery they use is scary .
