biked to the new office. I have NO intention of bike commuting but I thought it symbolic that I do a test ride to help me separate from the old place which I loved so much. very cool temps so I wore my novara headwind pants - perfect choice. up top I wore my thin long sleeve wool base layer and a dayglo running shirt w/ long sleeves and zip up neck. wore cycling gloves with fingers for the first time in a long time. thin skull cap with ear wrap for the ride in and just the skull cap home. good choices all around. last hill home was a bit painfull. haven't ridden this far in over 12 months.

I need want whatever a cycling GPS!

Awesome! I did a 50 mile ride for fun this weekend as well. Planning to take on a century in the near future.

For a cycling GPS I would recommend the Garmin Edge 800. You can also try to use your smartphone in a pinch, although the battery life and visibility in daylight will probably be much less optimal than what you would receive with a cycling specific GPS device.

That's pretty much what my one way commute to work would be if I didn't catch the bus. With the bus, it takes me 2 1/2 hours going home, about 3 coming in because of a lay over for a bus change. Some day I want to try the ride home just to see how hard (painful?) it would be. I average about the same speed you do.

This forum makes me realize that I should be able to ride more than I do. Yet I get tired from the riding I do now. Where can I get one of those HTFU stickers?

when you HTFU, they send you one in the mail

...if that ever happens I won't need it. But I'll be waiting and hoping. Maybe riding would be a more productive strategy though.
