So what's the scoop on the new Pave SL wheelset from Specialized?
Specialized website has very little info on it at all other than a higher price and new color. They don't even have a photo of it besides the the shot of it on the new Crux Expert bike. I found the following image in a google image search for reference.

I was going to get the current Pave SL for my bike but now am curious about the new one. Judging from the rare photos I have found it looks like a deeper section, but it doesn't list it as being deeper.
Does anyone have the wheelset yet? If so, can you give a report?
Wondering if I should wait.
Thanks.

It's hard to tell if the new rim is deeper or not. Might be an illusion from the new graphics.

The rear hub concerns me the most on these wheels. The drive side flange on my Tricross's rear Pave (not SL, but the same hub) cracked in two places after about 5000 miles of riding.

Thanks,
Is that 5000 miles cyclocross miles or road miles?
I don't actually do cross racing just use it for general rough road riding and commuting etc. But I still want them to be strong. My current wheels are Alex Ace19 and besides one recently blown spoke they have been bombproof for many years. They are just very heavy (2000g or so.) I have read generally positive reviews of the Paves so maybe you just got unlucky. The other wheel I was looking at is the AC Hurricane but that one is quite a bit more expensive and since I don't race it's hard to keep justifiying my blingy components.
