I want to replace the original Mafac pads on my 1980 Peugeot PY10S. It has Mafac (branded Spidel) LS2 side-pulls, and since I hear nothing but praise for Koolstop Salmon pads I want to try them out.
But will they fit? The R10 "Mafac" refill pads they sell seems clearly made for Mafac center-pulls, while their old school R8 side-pull pads are made for Campagnolo. I know nothing about how my holders compare. Can you help me?
(BTW: While the frame should be large enough for me - 62 cm, I'm 194 cm - I need a taller seatpost. Is anything nice in 26.6 mm available? The one I have now is the Spidel / Simplex original, I think it's called SLJ 4164. I know Simplex had a long version, SLJ 4164-A, but it's sadly made out of pure unobtainium).
EDIT: Scratch everything about the seatpost: It is in fact 26.4 mm, not 26.6 mm. Anybody know where I can get a nice, long seatpost in that dimension?
